The most recent! aka today! Was practicing posing and lighting and then wanted to make it have that old school Alien movie look!

So every Saturday night at about 11:30-1ish I join a concept art Sketchathon group. A livestream and google chat is set up and we are given approx. 40 minutes to paint a topic, and then we all hand it in to a google drive link and showcase it! So I said I would be coming back to this tumblr and kinda sorta lied. But Just yesterday I got rid of that para-site facebook (haha see why I did there (; )  so I figure why not waste my time getting inspired on here and working on art, instead of creeping on friends. SO, without further adooooo I will be posting again. 

Thoughts on the edge of my mind:

So I have been contemplating working on a short movie about my life as it is and will soon be. It’s not that I’m self absorbed or any of that it’s just to simply get my story out there and share some points (Social media obsession, conversation this day and age, “chivalry is dead”, art being under-looked and blah blah etc etc…,) So basically me ranting about things I care about that seem to anger or disturb me /: But it won’t be all downhill, happy thoughts will be thrown in there too. And if your wondering  just what I am talking about, I am now going to post some short rants:

Social Media Obsession + Conversation (Two birds with one stone):

Alright, so as I previously stated I’ve deleted my Facebook. Happy days. Now the questions I got from quite a few people are “Why? Why? Why?”. Well, I basically got tired of seeing all of your b.s. and complaints and invites to virtual garbage. I’ll admit I’ve complained millions of times on Facebook about how “life sucks” or “how bored I am”, It’s just the fact that I don’t care and it’s a cry for attention. I’ll admit I’ve posted things or said things for attention. It’s just getting that sudden realization of how pathetic it is, is what helped contribute to leaving the site. Seriously, “I am sooooo bored /: txt me 432-243-4298”. Wow. Great. So are millions of other people around the world but instead of posting some stupid status, why not read a book, or go for a walk, get stoned! Even CALL someone. Which ties into the conversation part. But before that I just want to say that if I’ve learned anything from leaving Facebook it’s that I can spend my time more productively working on art, reading, going for walks, texting/calling up people etc, instead of putting up a status about it, making sure my ex grilfriends life is miserable (not that I do that haha) or browsing my friends pictures from Mexico.

Which comes to conversations. If you think about it, to me anyways, I think that without Facebook people would have alot more to talk about instead of already knowing what the other person did on the weekend. There’s just a lack of person to person interaction and not as many subjects to really talk about /: And I really like a long, stimulating conversation.

*sigh* But thats my Facebook and conversation rant. And I’m not saying I hate Facebook. It can be very useful with it’s pages for people to make and get discovered. Or it’s groups for people to know whats happening around them. But instead I prefer the idea that if there’s a party you want me to come to, something you want me to see, or even if your just bored, then call me, text me, or even arrange a meet. And as for Overall social media, I have a Twitter, but I don’t tweet too much. I have an Instagram, (though I don’t follow much of my friends) but its to take awesome pictures and have that small addition of artist expression.. or just to take pictures of my food :D. But yea… Thats the spoonful right there.

The “Chivalry is dead” Quote:

I’ve heard it quite a bit lately (mostly from work conversations or girls tweets) about “I wish I had you to sit and watch movies with all day” or “Is romance too hard to ask for?”. Now I know there are a ton of stupid guys out there but there a good handful of good guys too. In my personal sight, a nice date (that I actually trying make happen currently) is a home-cooked dinner, and an in-home movie. Simple, sweet and you can have a good batch of conversations whilst showing your ability to care for that person. Only problem a lot of guys get stumped with is, of course the obvious “friend-zoned” (been there done that) and the even harder lip to climb being getting the girl to initially realize that your that fucking guy they talk/tweet about! Seriously! You can think of us nice guys as “soft” too apparently, so you don’t want to say no when THAT IS ALL WE WANT. We won’t go crying off into a corner if you say no to us. Yea sure we may be like “What a b***h…” for a day or two but then we’re fine (: . The thing that drives a nice guy insane is when the girl says “sure!” to him, but every time he tries to arrange something, nothing will happen. He can give her the choice of day, the time, the place, all to make it easier for her if she has a busy schedule. And we’ll wait and wait……    and wait, and thats what kills us. Giving her all those choices and all we get is a “okay (:” then it’s like she’s kidnapped or something. No effort is shown on her part and that is another thing we want is just recognition that you are looking forward to this. If we hear nothing then we get pissed and start thinking “Well, she’s obviously not into it. It was a stupid idea anyways. I should text her and say to just forget about it.” Then boom! Alls over and we feel led on…

I’m just going to backtrack now and say that this may not be the situation for all nice guys after asking a girl out. Just girls, if your not into it, then tell us. It’s no big deal. No one likes being led on.

AND LASTLY! Yes the last topic and probably the shortest… Probably not going to make that short movie now… lol but lastly:

Art Being Under-looked:

Books, language, paintings, drawings, digital work etc etc.. Today, we don’t have as much appreciation for these. I never hear anyone talk about how good the last book they read was (probably because it was in high school) or how they love this one painting by kdskjfanks. It’s pretty easy to see the downward slope of knowledge and enjoyment we gain from Art, Language and Literature. At times I wish I was taught by Athos from Fugitive Pieces haha (i know it was language, literature culture and love by the way. Not art). But if you were to compare the times of ancient Greece to now you would have to be blind to not see the difference! As a modern day example I was browsing Deviantart yesterday favouring pieces and concept art I found that interested me or inspired me, and I decided to look at the views of a concept design done in amazing detail and it looked like the artist had put a ton of time and heart into it, and what I saw shocked me. Approximately 300+ views. I thought to myself “What?! Only 300 views and yet this is amazing! Beautiful! Unique..”. So I took to the rest of my favourites and discovered more and more low numbers, not just in concept art but in actual paintings! Ones that should have thousands of views! No one understanding just how hard an artist works to get his/her finished product more then another artist. The appreciation is the same as well! Only appreciation can be affected by people who are and  aren’t artists alike. Same for reading books, some phenomenal books have been written, but have there been any big talk about them? Were they not mainstream enough? Like about vampires or werewolves? 

It just kind of saddens me to see things like this. Artists and authors alike starving for appreciation. To be talked about for all their hard work. To be even heard of by one in a large crowd of many. In personal opinion I think more needs to be given /: “More what?” you may ask.

Gratitude.

And to tie up the final loose end (language) we don’t talk enough. We “text” it out instead.

Well that is the end of my rant. Litereally wrote this in an hour.. what a life I have. Now time to enjoy whats left of (somewhat) light outside with a coffee and cigarette (:

Its been awhile since I’ve been on Tumblr but I’m back! After a couple months of being graduated I expected not to post for a bit so I could enjoy the finer things in life! And I did! By far one of my best experiences I’ve had lately is the Deadmau5 concert. Mutha fucking Contact! Had a blast …even though I lost my whole group but you know, when life gives you lemons you sit and watch, admiring the lemons. But anyways yes, Contact was freaking awesome. Emphasis on the “awe”. Anyways anyways, for a quick update I’ve been hanging out downtown, working at my stupid job (not really) and focusing on my music as well as digital art! I’ll probably post some work an previews up here so look out for those goodies! So cheers to you all, hope you had a happy summer and holidays and birthdays etc etc an enjoy the blog!
